1. The first step in the adoption process is to complete an Application. We will review your application and verify the information upon receiving it. If you rent your home, your landlord will be contacted for approval so it is important to make sure to include your landlord’s name and number on the application.
2. Once your application is approved, we will make arrangements for you to meet the dog in person. This interview is usually arranged by the dog’s foster family and may take place at your home or mutual location. We encourage everyone who lives in the household, especially children and other pets to meet and interact with the dog during this interview.
3. CRSD reserves the right to visit your home for an inspection during the adoption process.
4. Once you are approved, you will be asked to sign a legally binding Adoption Contract and pay an adoption fee.
Adoption fees are between $150-$300. Because we are an all-volunteer group, 100% of all adoption fees are used to cover medical expenses for the dogs in our rescue. Medical treatments include general health exams, dogs spay/neuter surgery, dental work, vaccinations, flea preventative medicals, microchip and microchip registration.
Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion may be tax-deductible. Donations help us to continue to care for these special dogs.
